Description

During the event Prorector Inger Askehave and other central figures will mark the opening of the Competence Center with presentations and speeches by- among others - Professor Thomas Ryberg, who works with e-learning at the E-learning Lab at the Department of Communication and Psychology, and Anette Kolmos, Professor at UNESCO Center for Problem Based Learning. The speakers will share thoughts about the potential in digitally supported learning and the future of PBL.

PBL DIGITAL

The new Competence Center will contribute to the implementation of The Digital Strategy’s initiatives regarding Education and problem based learning - commonly called PBL Digital. In practice, this means that the Competence Center for Digitally Supported Learning in cooperation with key entities will develop and maintain the best possible framework for digital support for PBL, focusing on the students' digital learning environment and the development of strong teaching competencies in digitally supported learning. The Competence Center will contribute to the ongoing development of digitally supported learning, especially within PBL and assist teachers and supervisors in the realization of new learning designs.

DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCIES IN A LOCAL CONTEXTS AND LATEST RESEARCH

The Competence Center will assist with technical and pedagogical-didactic counseling across the faculties of the university. Therefore, local digital learning consultants will be employed to the faculties in the near future. On a daily basis, they will ensure close contact and guidance to the university's teachers. The Technical Faculty of IT and Design has already employed a digital learning consultant as per January 1. The Competence Center will have close links to relevant research environments at Aalborg University, transforming the latest knowledge about digitally supported learning into learning activities, which will create value for both teachers and students.
