Invitation to ambassadorial guest lecture on "Romania and the EU - Challenges of a fairly new EU-Member"
From the end of World War 2 until the end of the Cold War, Romania was under Soviet rule with all it implies of oppression, bad economy and low living standards.

After the end of the Cold War Romania has been in an ongoing transformation process. Romania became an EU-member state in 2007 and is still in the transition of becoming a Schengen Member and a EMU Member.
